BR 1-09: New York

I chose the book because  I wanted to know cities in any foreign countries. I want to visit New York at least once in the future.

The book explains where buildings in New York are with names of avenue and streets, so it was hard for me to image them. However, I thought New York was a wonderful city. I also want to see a parade in America after I read this book.
I recommend you to read this book. You will be able to know New York more. Moreover, you'll know what influenced the development of New York.

Mr. Bean

It was raining and thundering. Mr. Bean entered the messy room with rope. He turned on the light, took out his stuffed animal, and talked to it. He brought a small umbrella to it because it rained outside. He also took an umbrella for himself and he opened it, but it was broken. He got a paper written "9:00" and a picture of mouth.

In fact, he dreamed then! His alarm clock went off, but he put it into water. He was sleeping. Next, water flowed through a hose. To my surprise, he stopped flowing water with his foot, sleeping. After a short time, he got up suddenly, his eyes closed. He bumped against the wall. He opened his eyes and did strange gymnastics. His nose was caught by his electric shaver when he was shaving. It escaped from it. He took the hanger and it had the paper which appeared in that dream. He took out the clock from water and hung it. He remembered what to do something suddenly, started to hurry, and he went out of his room, having his cloths.  Somehow, he entered it. He put the quiet over his stuffed animal on his bed, and then he went out of his room again.

He ran and rode a car. He drove it and knocked something around it. Driving, he changed his clothes. He turned the steering wheel with his feet meanwhile. He turned around a same spot again and again until he finished wearing his necktie and shoes. Moreover, he would brush his teeth in the car! He was turning the steering wheel with his mouth until he finished doing them. He gargled with water a car shoots. He spat the water in his mouth outside. It splashed a man's hip. His car pushed a parking car and parked his car at the place the car had parked before. He got out of it and he came across a police officer. His pajama appeared from zipper of a pair of trousers. He put it in his car and he went to the dentist.

In the dental clinic, he operated the chair used there by himself while the dentist didn't see him. He played with instruments of the dentist while he didn't do. The dentist's leg was stuck into by the injection of an esthesia, so his legs shook and he fell. He started to treat his teeth by himself. At last, the dentist got up and Mr. Bean went out because he finished treating.

Essay 1-03a: Love for Family

This movie, "Mrs. Doubtfire," makes us laugh and warm. In the story, a man tries to do housework in order to stay with his children. He and his family are improving gradually.

One of my main interests are Daniel's complex action in the restaurant. He was hanging between his children and boss. That made me uneasy, but that action was so funny. In addition, I noticed that he really loved his children because he could do a lot of housework well in the end in order to stay with them in spite of no his skill of it. I predict the major themes are comedy and love for family.

The movie tells us how important love for family is. I felt the message of it was that it bonds with everyone.

Then, I'll introduce the characters. The main character is an actor. His persons are cheerful and funny. He loves his children so much, but he doesn't do housework and often makes his wife angry. His wife's name is Miranda. She is serious and works well. She is often angry at him because he doesn't work enough. They have three children. Two of them are girls and the other is a boy. Lydia is his eldest daughter and a reliable person. She has a long wave hair. Christopher likes playing soccer and is his eldest son. Natalie is a cute girl and the youngest child. Daniel's brother is a makeup artist. Daniel was put on makeup by him. Stuart is a man who loves Miranda.

The main character's name is Daniel. He and his wife divorced. She won a suit and parental authority was given to her. Unfortunately, he couldn't see his children many times. He was very sad because he like them so much. One day, he knew that his ex wanted to employ a housekeeper. He hit on a good idea. It is what he disguised himself as a woman who work as the housekeeper. Then, he could stay with his children. His brother who was a makeup artist helped him with transforming himself. He was adopted by his ex admirably and he worked hard for her house. He was getting good gradually.

After I watched the movie, I noticed how important love for family wherever each members of family is. I could understand the final outcome after I listened to Daniel's words in last of the movie because I hoped that Daniel could live with his ex and children to be happy. However, I knew it isn't always happy that all members of family live in same house.

I want many people to watch this movie. The movie will make you positive and warm because the story is funny and tells you important things. If you have watched it once, look for the best funniest point for you. I want to know it.

I Love Lolita Fashion

Actually, I love Lolita fashion though some people have already know that. I don't want to tell that many people because other people have a negative image of it. My brother is one of them. Nonetheless, I want you to know wonderful points of it because I really like Lolita fashion. My boyfriend, my sister, and most of my friends have a positive image of it fortunately.

By the way, do you know what Lolita fashion is? It was made in Japan and is one of Japanese subcultures. There is a woman who wears it in the right picture. It is so cute, isn't it? Lolita fashion has various styles. For example, there are Sweet Lolita, Classical Lolita, Black Lolita, and so on. In short, Sweet Lolita is too cute and colorful. Classical Lolita is quiet. Black Lolita is literally black, but it is different from Gothic Lolita and cuter than it.

Then, there are brands of Lolita fashion. I like "BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT" and "Innocent World" especially, but there is only the shop of the former in Kumamoto prefecture. However, I'm satisfied with that because there is no shop of Lolita fashion in some prefectures. I guess the reason is that there is little demand for it. It is showy and the prices of the items are expensive. Why do I want to wear it in spite of that? The answer is very clear. Lolita fashion is really so cute. One of the good points is that the detail of items of it is elaborate and very pretty. For example, blouses of it sometimes have buttons shaped like a rose or heart.

There are three Kawaii ambassadors. They were appointed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to spread Japanese fashion in foreign countries. One of them is a person who wears Lolita fashion and spread it in them. Her name is Misako Aoki. To tell the truth, it is her who is in the picture in this article. There are people who like Lolita fashion in foreign countries, too. They like Japanese Lolita brands. In fact, there are also their shops in America, France and so on. I sometimes read the blog of the shop of Lolita fashion in San Francisco. The blog has a lot of pictures of the coordinates, so I can enjoy seeing them. I hope to make friends with foreign people who like Lolita fashion.

I was a junior high school student when I knew Lolita fashion for the first time. I wanted to wear it sometime then. I couldn't do soon because the clothes are expensive and my parents didn't like them. I knew that there were a lot of brands of Lolita fashion when I was a high school student. Then, I also knew there was my favorite brand. It was the case of a cell phone that I bought the shop for the first time. It looks a stuffed toy pink rabbit. I often read blogs of people who like it. They had many pictures of it, and I also enjoyed seeing them. I met a woman who liked it and wore when I was a freshman of KGU. She is very cute. I went to the shop of "BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT" when I went out with her for the first time. I bought the pink skirt with the floral design. I could do because I had a part-time job and saved money. I was so happy. I have bought clothes in the shop a few at a time since then. I have wore Lolita fashion and gone out. Now, I want to wear it and go out more. In addition, I hope to make a lot of better coordinates. I will post something about Lolita fashion on the blog again because I want you to know good points of it.

BR 1-08: Helping Around the World

I wanted to know helping activity in the world, so I chose this book.

I read it and I got a lot of information. For example, I had never known LifeStraws. They make dirty water clean and safe to drink. Charities give them to people who live in countries which have water enough to drink. I saw a picture of a person who drinks dirty water with a LifeStraw. I don't want to do because I expect I won't feel good even if I use it. However, I think people living in such countries so really need water to drink. We are truly living a comfortable life. Nowadays, Japanese people discuss whether nuclear electric power generation should continue to exist or not. If they continue to do, we can have a lot of electricity and live a comfortable life, but they sometimes become very dangerous. So, we need not live so richly because we have enough foods and drinks in Japan in spite that there also are people who have something enough to eat in some countries. We should put up with something.

As you can see, the book gives us an opportunity to think of the world and some things familiar to us. Your view of the world will spread if you had better read this book.

Lonely

I'm lonely because I can't see my boyfriend nowadays. He often stays with his friends or goes out with them and his seniors. But, I can understand that, so I can put up with that. I'm not a person who gets lonely easily like him. He entered an university this year. He had better stay with his friends. I should study English more while he enjoys with them. He also studies hard after he entered the university, so I respect him and love. He is so reliable. Well, I don't want to write more about my boyfriend's good points here today. I'm lonely. I'll post the reason why I love him on this blog sometime.

Good points and Bad points

I presented the result of the questionnaires about romance with the members of my group in the speaking class yesterday. The members are Marika, Yuki, and I.  I'm giving good points and bad points. First of all, one of good points is our presentation was going along fairly well in spite of making arrangements little. Then, all of the members could pull each own weight while we gave the presentation. Bad points are we were late for preparing it and couldn't make arrangements, so we couldn't speak fluently in the first half of the presentation time. I will make a plan for a presentation neatly next so that I will be able to make a wonderful one.

Romance

I announced the result of questionnaires about romance with the members of my group in speaking class. They are Marika Yasuda and Yuki Matsumoto. We wrote the result of questionnaires about romance on the vellum only today. We only had classified the data and thought of the layout. We had decided to gather at the study room in the library this morning and write the result on the vellum, but all the members were late. To make matters worse, we didn't have vellum before this morning. We tried to buy it in Maruzen, but it closed. It usually opens 10:00 a.m., so we couldn't buy vellum soon. It was about at ten that we started writing the result on vellum. We decorated it by turns because of our taking class. After all, we announced the result in speaking class without making arrangements.

This is the result. I'll introduce it to you. Respondents are only women.
Q1. Do you have a boyfriend now? The number of "Yes" and that of "No" are almost same. The former is a little less than the latter.
Q2. Did you have boyfriend? The number of "Yes" is large. That's great! Many people experienced romance.
Q3. Did you declare your love for him? The number of No is large. I guess a lot of women are shy or men are positive.
Q4. Do you think your boyfriend is more important than your friends? There are most women who think her friends are more important than him. I think my boyfriend is more important than my friends, but, of course, I think my friends are also very important. Don't misunderstand! By the way, I questioned some boys about the question. They all answered "Yes." I guess there are difference between men and women.
Q5. Do you want to be loved rather than love? The popular answer is "Yes." I also choose the answer, but I respect a little people who want to love rather than be loved because I don't think that people can think that easily.
Q6. Which is his good person? Many women chose "kind."
Q7. How long have you associated with him? The most popular answer is "Under three months."
Q8. When did you kiss for the first time? Many women chose "about one week."
Q9. What do you want him to be the most? A lot of women chose "kind." Do you remember the most popular answer of Q6? It is also "kind." That is very important.
Q10. What do you do if your boyfriend has an affair? Many women people said, "We'll break up with him." Some people said, "We'll forgive him." The reason is various, but the most popular reason is that they think they may also have bad points in themselves.
Q11. What do you think you can't allow his behavior? The most popular answer is hiding a fact.
Q12. What do you think of your boyfriend if he takes a bath once three times? It's a funny question. The most popular answer is "I don't want to approach him." We told ad lib during announcing in speaking class. That was so hard for us, but I had good experience today because I heard presentations of other group and could know a lot of interesting information.

Dating and Shopping

I dated with my boyfriend. It rained all day, but we had a good time. We overslept in the morning, but that often happens, so we weren't so disappointed. We met at the bus stop and went to the downtown by bus. He told me that people who live in Osaka said names of stations when they told someone a place where they wanted to go because there were a lot of fun places in Osaka. He knew that when he had talked with his friend who had lived there before. He knows a lot of knowledge on a wide variety of subject and often talks to me about it.

We arrived at the downtown and we went to some bookstores. My boyfriend looked for books on a public notary. He often reads serious books because he studies law in an university. I saw books on the official approval of personal computer. After that, we went to Cafe SWITCH to have lunch. Do you know it? It is in Kamitori. It's a cafe with atmosphere. We had delicious lunch. I recommend you the cafe. Then, we looked for shoes for my boyfriend because he wanted to buy them. We went to two shoes shops and he found shoes he liked. I also liked them. He also looked for a present for the Father's Day after we rested at Starbucks Coffee in New-S, and he could buy it. It was a glass. I wanted to buy clothes, so I went to some shops with him. Fortunately, I could find some clothes I liked soon. Moreover, the prices of them were reduced. I was very happy. I bought a pair of culottes, a pink T-shirt, a dark blue cardigan with short sleeves in PARCO. I bought two socks in tutuanna*. We went to the bookstore again, but we didn't buy anything and went home.

Today, we had lunch in the lovely cafe and had very good shopping. It was a wonderful day. I want to wear clothes I bought today soon and go out.

BR 1-07: Clothes Then and Now

I'm interested in clothes and I want to know the history of them, so I chose the book.

I read it, and I could know something on clothes. For example, clothes for babies became better than what babies were. They enable them to move more freely. I also knew why clothes were often big and heavy in the past. The reason is that most people couldn't buy clothes made of light fabrics because they were too expensive. After I read the part of the book, I guessed that modern developed industry enabled people to buy clothes made of light fabrics with a little money. In addition, the book has many colorful pictures. You can enjoy seeing them.

I recommend you the book because it enables you to know more things about clothes. What you will learn from it will be a hint about clothes you should wear. You'll be more interested in clothes if you read the book.

Essay 1-02b: Welcome to KGU!

Welcome to KGU. I'm a student at the department of foreign languages in KGU. I mainly learn English and Spanish. I found a lot of good points in KGU for a year, so I'll introduce them to you so that you can have a better university life after you enter KGU.

First, KGU has beautiful and useful facilities. I like the library the best of them and I often go there. It has the best number of books of libraries in private universities in Kyushu and it has rare books. In addition, it is large and beautiful, so you can read books comfortably there. Then, it has the other good points. You can use a computer there or watch DVDs by yourself or with your friends. I have ever watched a film there with my friend once. The library also has some private rooms so that you can study alone for hours. When you get tired studying, you can read a fashion magazine, too. I was surprised at first because there were the popular magazine, "non-no" there. I recommend you the books written by Kiyoshi Shigematsu. His works are interesting. I like "Kiminotomodachi" the best of all them. Most of the stories of them are fearful stories, but they give us something warm at the end.

Next, you should look at the boards. They have a lot of useful and important information. For example, changes of class rooms, schedules of no lecture, various events and so on. They'll give you good chances. In fact, I was able to get them from the boards. University students have to get them positively by themselves, so looking at the boards and getting useful information are your first step as getting good chances in your university life.

Finally, I hope that you'll meet various people in KGU. There are many kind teachers and seniors. If you have things you don't know and ask about them, they'll tell you kindly. There are exchange students in KGU, too. If you communicate with them, you'll be able to broaden your view of the world. You can meet them in English Lounge or Welcome party. Looking at the board, you are able to know when the party will be held. It is a lot of fun, so I recommend you to join it.

As you can see, KGU has a lot of nice points and will help you get good chances. If you enter it, you can get your wonderful university life.

Wrap-up post

In the first few scenes of the movie, the main character was criticized by his coworker in the office. After that, he held the birthday party for his child. He made noise with children and animals in the house. His wife came home and she got angry at the situation. She had been dissatisfied with him, so they divorced. His ex got parental authority.

The main character and his wife had three children. They like him, but she don't like him. She works, so she employed a housekeeper to take care of her children.

I expect a bad thing will happen to the main character's ex because he rewrote a telephone number. In addition, she will find new husband and the main character will also find a new job.

My favorite movies are animations made by Hayao Miyazaki. His works are very wonderful. The view of the world is great. I like "Howel's moving castle" especially. The main character is so cool, and the story is fun.

In addition, I recommend "Umigakikoeru" to you. It isn't so famous and I haven't watched it only once, but I like it. If you want to watched a story of youthfulness, you had better watch it. I also want to watch it again.

BR 1-06: British Life

I chose the book because I wanted to know lives in foreign countries. British life is the best interesting for me of all foreign countries and I came across the book.

Reading it, I knew that the British are traditionally a nation of animal lovers. I thought that this was why the characters in Harry Potter which was a story produced in British could bring their pet to Hogwarts which was a school in the story. I had ever wondered that Hogwarts' rules allowed the student to do them. By the way, I got sad to know the number of the British who have divorced is large. What do British children think of their parents' divorce? I also knew Spain is the most popular of all countries the British want to go for holidays. Why do they want to go there? Can they speak Spanish? I want to know answers to the questions.

I recommend reading the book because it is interesting. There are interesting things I didn't write in the previous paragraph in the book.

Driving Training

I got a temporary license on last Wednesday. Then, I have ever trained for driving a car five times out of the driving school I usually go. I was more nervous than  the examinations for a temporary license when I drove for the first time out of the driving school. I was so tired then. Today, I trained for driving three times,  wasn't so nervous and I enjoyed driving.

Foreign countries

I take the class of British, and I read some books on UK nowadays. So, my knowledges about it is increasing and I'm more interested in it than I have ever been. The more I know it, the more I'm interested in it. I like it the best of all foreign countries. I also want to go to America because I feel that its custom is fun when I know some things about it by TV or magazines. I have heard foods in America are so big, compared with those in Japanese. I want to see them directly. I wonder if I can be able to finish eating a hamburger set in McDonald's in America.
