Umigakikoeru

I watched the movie yesterday. The title is "Umigakikoeru." The movie was made by Hayao Miyazaki, but the book was made by Saeko Himuro. I had watched it once, but I didn't remember the story well. The movie was broadcasted on last Friday, so I recorded it then and watched yesterday. I could remember the story then. The main character loved the woman whose name was Rikako when he was a high school student. However, he didn't notice his love for her then. After several years, he looked back on his life he spent with her and noticed it. The story looks simple, but impressed, so I liked the movie. I want to watch it again. I also want to read the original and to compare it with the movie.

The Newspaper

My family read Kumamoto Nichinichi Shinbun because my father works for the company. I read the front page of the newspaper today. According to it, the Bank of Japan announced Business was improving in seven districts except for the Kinki district and the Shikoku district. In addiction, the produce was increasing in eight districts except for the Kinki district. That is a good tendency. However, I wonder why the business wasn't improving and the produce wasn't increasing in the Kinki district. I want to know the detailed reason. How can I do it?

I read six pages of the newspaper and I knew Korea was making application for extending the continental shelf. I didn't know a country can extend a continental shelf over 200 nautical miles. According to United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, it can do it if it applies to the committee for doing and is inspected. I hope for the fair inspect. If Korea already has enough resource, compared with the other countries, I don't want it to be allowed expanding the continental shelf because that's unfair. I guess that will influence the world economy. Korea tries to develop the seabed resources with expanding it. In addition, the area of sea it'll apply is the same area Japan and China want to get. I hope that a fair judgement will be passed for the three countries. I want the committee to divide it as they will get equal profit in the future.

BR 1-10: Australia and New Zealand

I chose this book because I want to know Australia and New Zealand. I hadn't known them well before I read it.

I can know Australia and New Zealand after I read the book. These countries have rich nature. I want to go there. I knew opals had been first found in Australia. That's fantastic. In addition, I was surprised that some people in Australia live under the ground in houses which are dug out of the rock. Unbelievable! I wonder if they're uneasy about them. They look fragile, I think.

I recommend you to read the book if you want to go to Australia or New Zealand. It has a lot of information.

BR 1-08: Helping Around the World

I wanted to know helping activity in the world, so I chose this book.

I read it and I got a lot of information. For example, I had never known LifeStraws. They make dirty water clean and safe to drink. Charities give them to people who live in countries which have water enough to drink. I saw a picture of a person who drinks dirty water with a LifeStraw. I don't want to do because I expect I won't feel good even if I use it. However, I think people living in such countries so really need water to drink. We are truly living a comfortable life. Nowadays, Japanese people discuss whether nuclear electric power generation should continue to exist or not. If they continue to do, we can have a lot of electricity and live a comfortable life, but they sometimes become very dangerous. So, we need not live so richly because we have enough foods and drinks in Japan in spite that there also are people who have something enough to eat in some countries. We should put up with something.

As you can see, the book gives us an opportunity to think of the world and some things familiar to us. Your view of the world will spread if you had better read this book.

BR 1-07: Clothes Then and Now

I'm interested in clothes and I want to know the history of them, so I chose the book.

I read it, and I could know something on clothes. For example, clothes for babies became better than what babies were. They enable them to move more freely. I also knew why clothes were often big and heavy in the past. The reason is that most people couldn't buy clothes made of light fabrics because they were too expensive. After I read the part of the book, I guessed that modern developed industry enabled people to buy clothes made of light fabrics with a little money. In addition, the book has many colorful pictures. You can enjoy seeing them.

I recommend you the book because it enables you to know more things about clothes. What you will learn from it will be a hint about clothes you should wear. You'll be more interested in clothes if you read the book.

BR 1-06: British Life

I chose the book because I wanted to know lives in foreign countries. British life is the best interesting for me of all foreign countries and I came across the book.

Reading it, I knew that the British are traditionally a nation of animal lovers. I thought that this was why the characters in Harry Potter which was a story produced in British could bring their pet to Hogwarts which was a school in the story. I had ever wondered that Hogwarts' rules allowed the student to do them. By the way, I got sad to know the number of the British who have divorced is large. What do British children think of their parents' divorce? I also knew Spain is the most popular of all countries the British want to go for holidays. Why do they want to go there? Can they speak Spanish? I want to know answers to the questions.

I recommend reading the book because it is interesting. There are interesting things I didn't write in the previous paragraph in the book.

I felt Shakespeare was great. He was an actor when he was young. That time, people thought actors were wicked. Nonetheless, he enjoyed his jobs as an actor and had loved plays.
